Glastonbury Pagan Moot

The Glastonbury Pagan Moot meets at 19:30 on the first Wednesday of the month at the Mitre Inn, Benedict Street, Glastonbury BA6 9NE.

The nearest place to park is in the car park of Glastonbury Abbey, next to the Town Hall. To get to Benedict Street from the car park, walk to the right until you get to the Cat and Cauldron shop, Benedict Street is opposite. The Mitre is 100 metres down Benedict Street on the left (see map).

We start the moot with a talk, then we'll have our bardic session, so don't be shy if you'd like to sing a song, tell a story or recite a poem. If not, just enjoy listening.

Glastonbury Pagan Moot

Admission £0.00

For January's moot, we will be asking someone from the local area who has expertise in different methods of scrying and divination, to come and share some of their knowledge with us. We haven't asked them yet, so I think it's only fair we don't say their name in this posting until we have - as we all know how quickly the Glastonbury grapevine sprouts! But if they are able to join us, it promises to be a fascinating evening.

On that note, we would like to wish everyone a happy and blessed season of Yuletide, Solstice, Christmas, Saturnalia, Sol Invictus, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever you decide to celebrate at this time of year.

In December's moot the earlier start time worked well for everyone, but the Bardic session still didn't quite have room for everyone who wanted to perform, before people had to start moving off. So we would like to try a start time slightly earlier still, at 7pm, starting in the new year, so that those who wish to listen and learn can do so, and those who wish to share stories and songs get just as much chance to do that.
